Portable Digital Radiography
Digital X-ray provides us with state-of-the-art technology to explore subtle lameness issues, to complete extensive pre-purchase examinations, and to investigate other diagnostic problems requiring radiographic imaging. A digital radiograph gives us a clear image within seconds of snapping the picture. This allows us to determine if the positioning and exposure are correct so that costly and time-consuming re-takes are unnecessary. We can often interpret the radiographs immediately and implement a treatment plan at the time of the exam.

Dentistry
BELAC veterinarians use Powerfloats for routine dentistry procedures, which for most horses will result in longer periods between floats. After the horse is sedated, a full mouth speculum is placed in the horse’s mouth to allow a thorough oral examination. Some older horses and those requiring more extensive dental correction will benefit from an “extended” dental float using specialized water-cooled power dental equipment.
